Armor of God Prayer: Based on Ephesians 6:10-17

Father God,

I pray You gird my waist with Your belt of truth,

Infuse my heart and mind with You and Your Word.

Help me hear Your Spirit within,

And always seek Your Kingdom first.  (^{See Matthew 6:33)}

 

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness,

I ask You to protect my Heart always.        (See proverbs 4:23)

Thanks for making me right through The Blood of Jesus,        (^{See Romans 5:9)}

Let Your righteousness serve others through me.        ^{See Ephesians 2:10}

 

Shod my feet with The Gospel of peace,

Guide my steps throughout this day.        (See Psalm 119:33-34)

Proclaiming the many gifts of God,

And the peace Jesus offers through faith.        (^{See Romans 5:1)}

 

Enable me to Lift Up the Shield of Faith,

As the evil fiery darts are defeated.

You say no weapon formed against me shall prosper, (^{See Isaiah 54:17)}

Let not the enemy’s plans be completed.       (1 Peter 5:8)

 

I place upon my head the Helmet of salvation,

Protect my mind from all that’s not of You.

Sanctify me until the day of completion, (^{See Philippians 1:6)}

And shelter me from all untruth.

 

Give me strength to wield the Sword of the Spirit,

Your Words are Powerful and filled with Might.  (^{See Hebrews 1:3)}

You Created the universe and all within it,       (See Genesis 1)

Thank You for The Way, The Truth and the Life.        (^{See John 14:6)}

 

As I venture into the day You have planned,

Help me listen and cooperate with Your Spirit.

Armed and protected, by the Armor,

WhichYou so graciously have gifted.

 

In Jesus Name I pray,

Amen.

See The Transformation…

See the transformation,
The change before the change.
The metamorphosis which will be,
When it’s the true you, you embrace.

Her ethereal existence,
Whisper of your tomorrow upon today.
Awaiting the steps of your journey,
Starting with one, your courage displayed.

You’ve been afraid to discover,
What’s destined to be yours.
Truths hidden by layers of facades,
Authenticity masked, hope obscured.

But I see her. Wings unveiled.
Through the hardships and mistakes.
To the light that already is,
And a dawn that waits to break…

As Your Plan Unfolds…

I know not where You’re leading me,
I only know it is from here.
This place in which I reside,
Where all seems so unclear.

Your plan, Your will,
I seek with all my heart.
I place my faith in You Lord,
Understanding, I pray impart.

You’ve never let me down.
You’re always on time.
Sustain me in this trial,
Be with me as I climb.

All I have is this moment,
Help me obey Your leadings.
I trust Your plan is perfect,
Despite my lack if seeing.

Pain’s Losing Power…

Pain cuts deep.
Past the surface.
Through bone and flesh.
What happens next…
—-
The lies I once believed,
The whispers in my ears.
The fear born deep within,
Accepting as truth, what I would hear.

Following the insidious leadings,
Into the realm of self destruction.
Smothered by a heavy darkness,
To which I’d helplessly succumb.

Now that power has faded.
Lies replaced with God’s truth.
Fear is buffered within me,
By a shield of faith I lift and use.

I can resist the temptation, when hurt,
Which once locked me in chains.
Tonight I did not drink or use,
Only God could make that change…

The jumping off place,

Pursued by familiar disaster.

Flames, whirling winds,

Consuming the ground

on which you stand.

No time to consider,

You’ve waited too long.

Close your eyes.

Take a breath and let go.

Through surrender

You’re transformed…

See through…

Can you see through…

The muddy waters surrounding?
Will you reveal the way out?
Feet so far beneath the surface,
Merging with the sludge of doubt.

Existence relative to self awareness.
Perceptual evidence waning.
Afraid to look beneath the surface.
Adapting to the comfort of sinking.

To fight, trust.
To hope, cling to faith.
To emerge, strive.
Light and safety are in wait…

Serenity is faith in graceful flight,
Soaring upon empowered wings.
Peace is trust propelled forward
By unshakable childlike belief.

Hope is blessed expectancy,
Unencumbered by fear’s oppression.
Love is the only everything,
God in all, unity, perfection.

Love’s Restless Road…

In the longing for love’s longing.
In the desire for quenched desire.
In seeking that which seeks to be found.
In wanting to speak the unspoken whisper…

It’s easy to compromise,
Just to be held.
To know a lovers touch,
Ignite the oneness meld.

The thirst for reciprocation,
The warmth of another’s embrace.
Companionship’s determined pressure,
Can cause one to choose in haste.

Love’s mere existence is purposeful,
There’s much to be gained.
While genuine and beautiful,
Love can wrongfully enslave.

Shifting intuition into chance,
A misplaced heart searching for forever.
There are benefits from love in all forms,
Learning through mandatory errors.

Perhaps enduring pain and abuse,
Horrors of loose humanity.
From the longing inside for love,
Interlocked with fear’s company.

Can we learn to wait?
Acting based upon faith.
Protect our irrevocable hearts,
And avoid regret’s infinite refrains.
