It is in times of great sadness,
That you find me here.
Like strangers we’ve spoken silently,
With words no one could hear…
In those silent moments,
When I’ve not written what’s inside,
There is no ink to suffer bleed,
From the flow of pain’s tide…

Untamed, unfiltered, unbound,
Seeking expression upon void canvases.
Coloring a world within an ornate frame,
Embellishing life with elegant song and dance.
Emotions unfiltered, internal truths revealed,
Romantic strings strummed upon the heart.
Echoes of times past and to come,
Mirroring the surrounding world through art.
A flame, an inferno,
Producing immense heat.
Which scorches frozen souls,
With the warmth they crave and need.
No cap, no max, no attempts to bind,
A voice lubricated by inhibition.
Unwinding in a flow of erupted energy,
Feeding on inspiration’s gifted nutrition.
Poetry is the medium,
Which intently selects it’s vessel.
Received with acceptance or not,
A poet’s passion cannot be quelled!
Speech in black and white
Same threat as mouth in action?
Or does it lose might?
I question the written word
Expressing thoughts with edits
Maybe it’s not as dangerous
As the human tongue is
The tongue, mighty and destructive
A small fire ignites the entire forest (James 3:5)
Strange that something so small
Can be packed with such abhorrence
Death and life abide in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21)
And it can’t be tamed by man (James 3:8)
So I’d like to think that black and white
Will give me the upper hand

Writing leads my heart
To speak, what there, is hidden
Reveals unseen parts

First try on a haiku, not completely sure it qualifies- so be gentle… but any feedback is appreciated. Some of you guys seem to have it down! Perhaps I should pay attention to formal poetry styles just for fun!
