I wish to be one with sea.
To leave this life behind.
For each crash upon hardened stone,
To be a victory for the tide.
I want to dissolve into the ocean,
My sanctuary and confidant.
Kind keeper with watchful eyes as I grew,
Merge my life with yours, take this broken heart…

By stretch of an ocean wave
Embraced by the sea
The ocean seems to mourn
Drifting softly to the shore
I look to the expansive sea,
Heart heavy with ache.
Moons fullness above,
Stars seek escape.
Wind blows hardened palms,
There’s a rumbling in the tide.
Imagination dances with the mysteries,
The hidden are calling my curious mind.
So dark and deep
What lies beneath
I focus on what I can see
The moon’s silver gleam.
In the distance strikes of lightening
The light is anchoring
To the present moment, enhancing.
Is my heavy heart, right here?
Is my burdened soul, right now?
Waste I this day, tears for tomorrow?
When they’re nowhere to be found?
Is current pain, born of a future yet unborn,
Still the present, because it hurts so bad.
The storm’s in the distance.
It may never arrive, or perhaps it already has…
Written while at Hilton Head Island, SC. Had some hard days after Robin Williams committed suicide. Hit me hard. Will post a couple of poems from that week. Was amazingly beautiful there- right by the ocean.
There is a shell beside me now,
I retrieved from the ocean blue.
I place my ear against its form,
Hearing the sounds of waves made new.
The air is laced with a delicate mist,
The wind is random and sporadic.
Gulls soar and dive with precision,
I know electric enchantment in the synaptic.
Individual grains of sand take flight,
Capsules of histories’ lasting imprints.
Evidential footprints untouched,
To be washed away by salty grips.
The feelings adrift within my core,
Align with the tides’ ebb and flow.
Calmness blankets my spirit,
Peace refreshes my soul.
I am wrapped in solitude’s stillness,
Safe upon the diminishing shoreline.
As I ponder things of old,
Swallowed by the sea over time.
Old poem revision.
I’ve grasped a sand dollar in my hand,
An unwilling passenger abducted by the waves.
I marvel at its masterful perfection,
Grateful the traveler has come my way.
Such amazing beauty discovered,
Oceanic gem, born of a powerful sea.
Delicate survivor of elemental perils,
A testament to God’s sublime artistry.
Illuminated night gem.
Cyclically shifting stages,
Holding the tide in submission.
Encouraging the dreamers’ visions.
Inspiring the introspective poet.
Directing eyes to the heavens.
Provoking exploration’s focus.
Illuminating paths abandoned by the day.
Bearer of crystals upon outstretched seas.
Sunrise amidst starlit skies.
Subject to God’s nocturnal biddings.
Reflection upon mirrored lakes.
Casting shadows once unknown.
Spreading its enchanting blue hue.
Leading the lost back home…
