The Moment…

Be still my over active mind,
Exist inside the moment.
Where the noise is less abrasive,
Exit the spiraling confinement.

This moment, so elusive.
I need anchor and chains.
Past and present live in projections,
I seek release from immaterial refrains.

Conscious contact with God
Rests in this moment.
I seek His sunlight,
And nurturing fulfillment.

When Searching For God…

jeremiah 29-13

In the search for God,

One need not look far.

He is not lost or hiding,

He exists within our hearts.

An undeniable longing,

We cannot quench with the world.

He is “I Am”… Eternal, (Exodus 3:14, Psalm 90:2)

Seek Him, and know fully as you are known. (1 Corinthians 13:12)

Let It Go…

A day of could have beens
Of should have beens
Of would have beens

A day of was nots
Of not meant to be’s
Of just didn’t happens

This truth can never be covered up.
Can never be changed.
Can never be reversed.
Never be wished away.

Mourn the loss
But don’t lose right now
Move forward
It’ll be okay somehow

Unsung… (Writer’s Digest Poem A Day Challenge- Final Day)

For today’s prompt, write a “calling it a day” poem. Some people might call this “Miller time,” others may refer to it as “closing time.” Just remember: Don’t call it a day until you put it in a poem.

Calling it a day
Before the day is done
Rushing into tomorrow
Before the morning sun

Unable to sit still
Unable to settle
A future on fire
From today’s candle

The distance traveled
Is all in the mind
An illusory existence
Of a machine, bending time

Calling it a day
Before the day is done
Negates the present moment
Leaving life’s songs unsung

With urgency, gathering all her strength,
Time progressing in obedience.
She tries to suspend the moment forever,
He’s leaving soon, risking life for defense.

The thought of losing him is torment.
To breathe she needs his love, his heart.
Sharing a singular beat, they’re united as one,
She has to ensure he doesn’t depart.

So she holds tight the the chains she lassoed time with,
As shards of active moments escape.
Knowing within, the efforts are futile,
Tomorrow will come; there will be a new day.

Yet she holds on till hands bleed, and chains empty,
Tears flowing from her darkened skies.
Weak from fighting a battle she couldn’t win,
In powerless despair she now prepares, to say her goodbyes.

Illuminated Moment…

Flickering glow, circular ceiling projection,
Light piercing the darkened room.
Soft flames filled with warmth,
Dancing with the music’s melodic tune.

Enhancing the moment,
Absorbing emotions to purify.
Negativity, and fear subjected to fire,
Pain burned to indemnify.

A trinity of light to anchor,
Honoring The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Accompanying me in the moment I know,
True light and warmth, ever present…

Escape Pause…

The quiet encapsulated,
Within the rustling leaves.
Silence amid the noise,
Sound in 3D.

Elevated out from the background,

A moment, wrapped in simplicity.

Welcomed into a temporal pause,

Nature grants me entry.

Common Moment…

Gathered together as strangers.
Connected by fascination.
Experiencing the shared moment,
Eyes lifted in amazement…
