Armor of God Prayer: Based on Ephesians 6:10-17

Father God,

I pray You gird my waist with Your belt of truth,

Infuse my heart and mind with You and Your Word.

Help me hear Your Spirit within,

And always seek Your Kingdom first.  (See Matthew 6:33)

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness,

I ask You to protect my Heart always.        (See proverbs 4:23)

Thanks for making me right through The Blood of Jesus,        (See Romans 5:9)

Let Your righteousness serve others through me.        See Ephesians 2:10

Shod my feet with The Gospel of peace,

Guide my steps throughout this day.        (See Psalm 119:33-34)

Proclaiming the many gifts of God,

And the peace Jesus offers through faith.        (See Romans 5:1)

Enable me to Lift Up the Shield of Faith,

As the evil fiery darts are defeated.

You say no weapon formed against me shall prosper, (See Isaiah 54:17)

Let not the enemy’s plans be completed.       (1 Peter 5:8)

I place upon my head the Helmet of salvation,

Protect my mind from all that’s not of You.

Sanctify me until the day of completion, (See Philippians 1:6)

And shelter me from all untruth.

Give me strength to wield the Sword of the Spirit,

Your Words are Powerful and filled with Might.  (See Hebrews 1:3)

You Created the universe and all within it,       (See Genesis 1)

Thank You for The Way, The Truth and the Life.        (See John 14:6)

As I venture into the day You have planned,

Help me listen and cooperate with Your Spirit.

Armed and protected, by the Armor,

WhichYou so graciously have gifted.

In Jesus Name I pray,

Amen.

Valentine’s Day 2020: Post “I do”…

f52aff03727e4d8bb605fde37800b5c7

Our SOULS danced, with birds-eye view,

Above ONE WHOLE, once Lost as Two.

Spectators to love ENHANCED and RENEWED,

Agape-embraced Eros is TESTED and TRUE.

BETWEEN THE WHAT IF’S…

Between the what if’s…

That magical dimension,

Akin to delusions or psychosis,

Where one holds to a tiny thread of subjective reality,

A confirmed impossibility,

Only in the realm of gentle probability,

From the mind of one, single, beautiful, intelligent, creative, unique, human being…

 With Sway… by

Life’s path, shaky.
Edges contort with uncertainty.
Mistaking vertigo for safety,
Due to its familiarity.

One step at a time, mere cliche.
Each step is taken with sway,
Time is set on perpetual replay.
No forward progression, continual delay.

Eyes half open for fear of the truth.
Masked reality with everything to prove.
Lucid while dreaming, collecting real wounds.
Questioning the concept of being bulletproof.

Above The Weather…

Under the weather,

Seeking to ascend.

Into the silken blue,

Where infirmity ends.

Chicken soup and love,

Lots of rest and drink.

Transport me to the land of healing,

Above the weather I wish to be.

Insanity…

IMG_8344
Ever hit one of these,

So hard your nose bleeds,

And u swear you won’t do it again?

You pick yourself up.

You dust yourself off.

And rev up the ole’ flame within.

You’ve grabbed no new tools,

You’re going faster than before,

And you’re head is straight up your ass.

Not a glamorous sight,

But appearance aside…

You’ve learned to fail with class!

The same brick wall.

The same barricade.

Will sanity ever win?

Perhaps you’ll bust it down,

Or maybe go around,

Or simply repeat… ad infinitum.

Superficial Light… (One-Word Prompt)

Superficial light, I believed you were true.
I was even sure it was you who shone through.

My spirits were lifted, hope was acquired

Dreams were envisioned, my heart was inspired.

But when night descended, upon my tiring spirit.

You fell into shadows, and luminance was lifted.

You were a falseness, a snake, a mask to eclipse.

Fiction placed craftily on the cusp of darkness.

Desert Tortoise “Hope”

What seemed like endless searching,

Motion-filled hours staring at the ground.

Hot sun barreling down upon us,

Wind and dust stirring all around.

Each four-wheeling excursion,

We envisioned finding you.

Among an expanse of rocks, dirt and brush,

Seemed impossible, but we knew!

And there you were, at summers end,

Inching slowly on your way.

Rugged, beautiful, healthy,

You were so very worth the wait!

Just to see you up close,

Your sharp claws grasping the earth.

What a gift God gave us that day,

Our little desert tortoise named “Hope”

Water Betrothed…

image

I remember first witnessing your beauty,
Like stained glass crafted by God’s hands.
Colors selected with a keen eye.
Division with such precision and command.

Iridescent angelic highlights,
Setting you apart from the rest.
Eyes a piercing crimson,
Mahogany speckled breast.

Paintbrush strokes of black and white,
You returned a glance at me.

Dressed for a wedding are we?
