Friend from Magical Garden…

First thought, what is this creature?!

Second thought, where does it live?!

Third thought, I want to pet it!!

It’s a bundle a colorful, furry bliss!!

I see the caption, thank God it’s there.

Portland, The Magical Garden.

Of course this is where my new squishy lives!

Good name for something this awesome.

Above The Weather…

Under the weather,

Seeking to ascend.

Into the silken blue,

Where infirmity ends.

Chicken soup and love,

Lots of rest and drink.

Transport me to the land of healing,

Above the weather I wish to be.

Autumn’s Liberation…

Collapse into me, Summers golden kisses.

Upon edges of winter’s yet to bes.

Infuse deep within me, the warmth of your hues.

Serenade me with your gentle rustlings.

I melt into your transition,

Following your lead ever changing.

Enchanted, entranced, with each shifting breeze,

At autumn’s liberation…

Desert Tortoise “Hope”

What seemed like endless searching,

Motion-filled hours staring at the ground.

Hot sun barreling down upon us,

Wind and dust stirring all around.

Each four-wheeling excursion,

We envisioned finding you.

Among an expanse of rocks, dirt and brush,

Seemed impossible, but we knew!

And there you were, at summers end,

Inching slowly on your way.

Rugged, beautiful, healthy,

You were so very worth the wait!

Just to see you up close,

Your sharp claws grasping the earth.

What a gift God gave us that day,

Our little desert tortoise named “Hope”

Water Betrothed…

image

I remember first witnessing your beauty,
Like stained glass crafted by God’s hands.
Colors selected with a keen eye.
Division with such precision and command.

Iridescent angelic highlights,
Setting you apart from the rest.
Eyes a piercing crimson,
Mahogany speckled breast.

Paintbrush strokes of black and white,
You returned a glance at me.

Virga In The Valley…

It’s raining in the sky,
No hopes of touching ground.
Virga in the valley,
Sight without sound.

Beautiful, mysterious darkness,
A mass collection of gray.
Is there a longing to to connect,
Or a desire to stay away?

Virga in the valley,
I see beginning, and I see end.
It’s raining in the sky ,
Strands of water, limited.
