Above The Weather…

Under the weather,

Seeking to ascend.

Into the silken blue,

Where infirmity ends.

Chicken soup and love,

Lots of rest and drink.

Transport me to the land of healing,

Above the weather I wish to be.

Yet Again…

Her auburn hair’s free flow,
Was held captive and distressed.
As she locked on to the unseen,
Bracing against the unrest…

The unseasonably frigid chill,
An abrupt, assertive breeze,
Stole the tranquil solitude
She had sought with need.

The wind, a threatening howl,
Cold and hollow.
Indistinguishable,
As friend or foe.

Floral surroundings, unaffected,
Nature’s skin was still and balanced.
Yet she was set ablaze,
By the unnatural and savage.

Deadened movements, frail,
Under the spell of time’s suspension.
Questioning in her heart and mind,
Why is this happening… Yet Again?

Awaiting The Thaw…

image

There is a frost within you,

Crippling the light and the warmth.
Shaving love from your life,
And the ice won’t let you mourn.

You push all who love you away,
Striking out in rage and attempts to control.
I see the vulnerability within you,
The battle you’re losing in your soul.

The losses you won’t acknowledge,
Are losses just the same.
And somewhere in your frozen core,
Your heart faintly beats to denial’s refrain.

Only God can thaw you,
His, the only healing.
Your razor sharp defenses,
Cannot shred all feelings.

And when the blood is allowed to flow,
Warm from your hidden wounds.
I pray God grants you strength to endure
Until then, I’ll still keep loving you…

Awaken, Not to Life…

image

Thick, black mascara tears.
Still lying on the tile,
Cold and hard
Is her hazy, piecemeal truth.

Small cuts evrywhere,
Diced pain.
Broken glass surrounds.
She thinks to herself… Again?

She Wonders:

How she got here,

Where “here” is,

And if she’ll ever leave…
