Photo Title: Live Mirror
Activated by the tears of momentary regret and hopelessness.
Spaces between are the clarity of needed renewal,
and the brilliant light of optimistic potential.
My crashing life held in tact by both the real and illusory branches of the shedding trees.
There is motion.
I am part of this moving ecosystem.
The rhythmic echoes sustain me.
The live mirror is life.
I am alive.
And I will move forward.
The Obvious and The Hidden is one of my favorite blogs to follow. The titles that are applied to his amazing photography are perfection! I was searching through the history, since it’s been a good while that I’ve been on wordpress, and I went to May 10th- my sobriety date (2014). Note: this photo may be found in 2015. I was moved to remember that day and combine it with the success of today when writing this piece- a little over 17 months clean/sober and feeling great! I kind of dropped off wordpress at that time. Which is crazy!!! My, how time flies!! I was soooo active before. Miss all you guys. Trying to jump back in. Peace to you all.
Kingman Wash in Arizona. Iphone snap
Crystal jewel amid desert rigidity,
Exposed in willing transparency.
Deep tonal blue your reflective canopy,
Your icy December embrace still entices me.
My fingers playfully seek
Expectant through chilled caress,
I feel the settled stones,
You and time have smoothed diligently.
And respectfully I acknowledge,
You haven’t always known such serenity.
Rugged unpolished rocks,
Droughts and waters raging.
Yet I know and remember when trials oppress,
Serenity IS, and when absent, will again be…

Serenity is faith in graceful flight,
Soaring upon empowered wings.
Peace is trust propelled forward
By unshakable childlike belief.
Hope is blessed expectancy,
Unencumbered by fear’s oppression.
Love is the only everything,
God in all, unity, perfection.
For today’s prompt, write a location poem. Location could be physical–Or location could be emotional, psychological, metaphysical, or some other kind of word that ends in -al. Or surprise everyone!
Among the clouds
I drift away
Soft into the spring sky.
All that surrounds
Is the peace
Within my glowing mind.
Bird’s melodic verses,
Sifted by distance
Are companions to my ears.
The warmth of the sun
Blankets my soul,
As the tangible disappears.
Suspended by draping moments
Encapsulated by their own passing,
My heart beats in pace with serenity.
And suddenly I’m aware.
I will have to descend once more,
To a world abrasively consuming.
Shallowly below the surface
Water gently swaying from movement
Liquid veil covers surrendered ears
Altering, yet not tainting the music
Piano keys stroked with care
Gentle runs, emphasis upon each note
Volume increasing, tempo slows
All heard as echoes under watery cloak
I sometimes feel free, in an otherworldly pull,
A drag into slow motion.
Lifted from that which surrounds,
Connected to all that is.
Eyes seeking to remain closed,
Dreaming awake in full consciousness.
A pull I sometimes seek to maintain,
To merge, lean into with surrender.
Thoughts on pause, mind now filled with still light.
Peace…dare I imply?
Serene in a suspended moment?
So sweet, dry tears drift slowly by…
Lifting me, transcending.
Insides soft and electric, aware of my presence,
A way to be high without chemical interference.
The music stops.
I feel her upon my awakenings,
She rests through the night by my side.
She senses when I am sad,
And stays close with watchful eyes.
Peaceful, comforting, and loyal,
The serenity I’m blessed to know
I asked for “God to grant me”,
And He made it so…
My cat Serenity- her name suits her!
