The jumping off place,
Pursued by familiar disaster.
Flames, whirling winds,
Consuming the ground
on which you stand.
No time to consider,
You’ve waited too long.
Close your eyes.
Take a breath and let go.
Mirror mirror, in the sky,
Show me, who I am through Your eyes.
Reflect to me what You see.
Heart… soul… strength…
Search me with Your penetrating gaze,
Into my inward hidden place.
All that You find pleasing to You,
Amplify in Your love and truth.
And that which You wish to refine,
Reveal and transform to Your design.
Grant me willingness,
Surrender and obedience…
If I could exercise free will
Without getting consumed by self will
Without rescinding my surrender
And with pride becoming overfilled
Maybe I’d be happier to accept
God’s gift of free will
The heavens are still.
Silence is domineering.
To nothingness, gripping.
Planets in the distance,
The earth afar off.
Memories of what’s past,
Stream amid reflective thought.
Freedom in letting go of vain attempts,
Universe shares aesthetic serenity.
No auditory static, just internal echoes,
For the first time, true, untainted clarity…
Note: Inspired by movie – Gravity
You’ve looked long enough,
It’s time to leap and let go.
Surrender in faith…
The allure of the slow paced lyrical flow,
Acoustics in imperfect harmony.
Notes collectively scattered,
She tugs at reluctant finger tips,
Bare feet vainly wedged in the sand.
Long white skirt set ablaze in flare,
By the powerful pressing wind.
Resistance only temporary,
There’s inevitable surrender.
But hesitation is necessary,
Prior to intentional misadventure.
The in-between affords time to choose,
The perspective, the interpretive angle.
Yet, attention to the soft pauses,
Requires thought strands to be untangled.
Once given to the music’s pull,
The soulful poetic verbal display,
Fear of loss, transforms into a merging of entities.
The slow acoustic melody has it’s way…
