Summer Fun… (Writer’s Digest Poem A Day Challenge)

For today’s prompt, write a water poem. Life depends upon water, so there are any number of ways to write this prompt.

Little feet traipsing
Upon the soggy green
Blades of grass between their toes
Muddy earthworms, unseen
Bouncy, pouncy, springing forth
In the summer heat
Water oscillating
From garden hose stream
Rainbows created by
Suns’s strong beams
Laughter unrestrained
Children’s spirits set agleam

Art Begets Art…

The rainbow combines.

Art breathing life into art.

Heavenly brush strokes…

A Rainbow in The Desert…

I saw a rainbow blaze the desert sky

The memory of, remains amplified

The colorful array gleamed perfection

For my attention, the heavens beckoned

My heart and mind gave a grateful reply

Against manmade structures and mountains high

A sight unexpected, that mystified

Beauty I didn’t know to imagine

I saw a rainbow

Rainbows were always in ample supply

When I lived among the rains’ lullaby

With rain scarce, spectrums can simply become,

Common accents, with amazement deafened

I’ll always cherish the power of light

I saw a rainbow…
