Live mirror…
Activated by the tears of momentary regret and hopelessness.
Spaces between are the clarity of needed renewal,
and the brilliant light of optimistic potential.
My crashing life held in tact by both the real and illusory branches of the shedding trees.
There is motion.
I am part of this moving ecosystem.
The rhythmic echoes sustain me.
The live mirror is life.
I am alive.
And I will move forward.

Placid Paddling…
Lake Mead, NV
Through the glass,
My paddle passes.
Breaking gently into tiny pieces,
Rapidly repairing placidity.
One repetitive,
Awkwardly rhythmic row after another,
Propels me toward my destination of non-specificity.
The depth of the water below varies,
As time and distance pass.
And my fear is directly correlated with that depth,
Yet the fear is thrilling…
The heat of the sun,
The wayward frigid splashing from my paddle,
Balance my experience beautifully.

Sets my spirit free…

Exposed in willing transparency.
Deep tonal blue your reflective canopy,
Your icy December embrace still entices me.
My fingers playfully seek
Expectant through chilled caress,
Revitalize me.
I feel the settled stones,
You and time have smoothed diligently.
And respectfully I acknowledge,
You haven’t always known such serenity.
Rugged unpolished rocks,
Droughts and waters raging.
Yet I know and remember when trials oppress,
Serenity IS, and when absent, will again be…
