Poetic Journey in Personal Discovery

Autumn’s Liberation…

Collapse into me, Summers golden kisses.

Upon edges of winter’s yet to bes.

Infuse deep within me, the warmth of your hues.

Serenade me with your gentle rustlings.

I melt into your transition,

Following your lead ever changing.

Enchanted, entranced, with each shifting breeze,

At autumn’s liberation…

Stone Elegance…

Light livens her,

Contentment abounds.

Firm in permanence,

A stance beautiful, proud.

To glance is to stare,

Her stone elegance entrancing.

Immortalized by hands of love.

Still romancing…

My tears replace the dew of a field of silken petals.

Dried only by the Son rising in my heart.

Sorrow collects, as in deep forgotten wells,

Cylindrical Stone walls hiding secrets in the dark.

Night fills the day with an unwelcomed presence,

The stars lack participation.

I seek illumination on this season of my journey.

Holding to translucent threads of hope, with forced anticipation.

Desert Tortoise “Hope”

What seemed like endless searching,

Motion-filled hours staring at the ground.

Hot sun barreling down upon us,

Wind and dust stirring all around.

Each four-wheeling excursion,

We envisioned finding you.

Among an expanse of rocks, dirt and brush,

Seemed impossible, but we knew!

And there you were, at summers end,

Inching slowly on your way.

Rugged, beautiful, healthy,

You were so very worth the wait!

Just to see you up close,

Your sharp claws grasping the earth.

What a gift God gave us that day,

Our little desert tortoise named “Hope”

Pray For Las Vegas

pray_for_las_vegas_graphic

First round not a threat to life,

Initially many believed.

Fire-works, they began to look,

But colorful lights they did not see.

Screams from the crowd erupted,

People began to run and fall.

Blood started to flow,

From faces, necks and hearts.

Which way to run, no one knew.

What direction were the bullets coming?

At least 20 minutes it seemed, continuous rounds,

Automatic weapons rushing.

59 dead, over 500 injured,

Our city forever changed.

Pray for Las Vegas.

Each victim has a story and a name…
