God’s Love “Rains”…

God’s love descending.
Never ending.
Like drops of rain
Bathed in streams of light
From starry nights.
Time,
Cannot define.
Figures,
Cannot contain.
God’s Love exists
In the limitless.
In realms of incomprehension.
Embraced by open hearts,
Nourished, treasured, shared.
God is love. (1 John 4:8)
Love’s touch is life.

Shower me.
Let it rain.
Until anger and hate
Are cleansed and replaced,
By Your life giving flow
Of agape.
Your eternal perfection
Teaching me,
Each moment,
How You’d have me be
To distribute the light
Gifted by You,
With the power of The Trinity

If I Were An Enchanted Camera… (Writer’s Digest Poem A Day Challenge – Day 14)

For today’s prompt, take the phrase “If I Were (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write the poem.

If I were an enchanted camera
Passed between photographer’s hands
Teleported through space by passion
To beautiful and exotic lands

I’d be an immortalizer of moments
Sharing my secrets with existence
With dreamers and bucket-list hopefuls
Encouraging action and persistence

I’d help reveal God’s perfection in nature
Open eyes to sufferings and needed change
Evoke the emotional spectrum
Uniting people who are normally estranged

I would dawn inspiration which inspires
Poems, and paintings, and songs
Which extend to future generations
When I am long gone

To stand atop a mountain, serene
Vast landscape touched by a setting sun
To rest next to a powerful waterfall
Or quietly witness a lioness and her cubs
A perspective of one, shared with many
Gifts to those who won’t observe
Connecting a universe by magical clicks
If I were an enchanted camera, I’d happily serve…

My Light’s Not Mine Alone…

image

I like to be alone, but,
What if I had no one?
Floating in space, no link,
By nothingness, overcome.

Solitude I cherish, but,
What if I become lost?
Make a wrong turn upon a path,
My goals of peace, for nought?

I’d rather stay to myself, but,
What if it’s not about me?
Hiding the chance to share my light,
And give love to those in need…

Taking a moment alone,
I consider being by myself.
Solitude at hand,
I need to get out of me for a spell…

Many Sufferings…

Image

The sight of human suffering,
The sound of another’s pain.
I feel such angst, over my minimal power,
To bring about much needed change…

Suffering, like flourishing blossoms,
From foundational, fertile soil.
Petals fall like tears from swollen eyes,
Turmoil and distress are nourished and toiled.

There’s a world of hurting souls,
Yet many a closed eye remain.
The wilting and fallen are often ignored,
Perpetuating heartache’s stains.

Water, sunlight, and tending,
Compassionate hands for healthy growth,
Prayers, time, and giving,
Sharing love can ease pain and give needed hope…
